Twitchy Squirrel

Funkite originated in a now defunct factory that specialized in painting large outdoor displays and sculptural installations. They used paint that was highly fluorescent and phosphorescent. Funkite formed through the layered buildup of these specialty paints, air-dried over time rather than heat-cured. Colorful quartz and gravel is sometimes included in the paint as the rare manmade material accumulated in a landfill located in North Carolina. Daphne and Leland Boone's twitchy squirrel with scanning eyes from coral inlays, is sculpted from colorful funkite to a dimension of approximately 2 3/4" long, 3/8" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
