Mole burrows and excavates. Excess soil is pushed to the surface forming molehills. For the Zunis, a mole is the Guardian of Mother Earth, a protective and hunting animal of the underground. Smoothly sculpted and highly polished from a verdant serpentine, tiny drilled eyes and ear holes are features of this approximately 2" long, 1" wide and 5/8" tall subterranean creature with a fabulous nose.
