Longtime carver Wilfred Cheama comes from the greater Natewa, the late Dallas Quam and Panteah family of noted Zuni Pueblo artists. Other carving siblings from this family include the late Fabian Cheama, Arvella Cheama and Lance Cheama. They've been wonderful innovators in contemporary Zuni animal carvings. Wilfred's collectible Mountain-lion (puma, panther, leopard or cougar) with sky blue turuqoise eyes, is masterfully sculpted from Picasso marble where the natural patterns mimic the silent movement of the great feline throughout its timber territory. We love the intricacy of the fur etchings, tiny clawed paws and stunningly coiled long tail of this soulful feline. About 2 1/4" long, 1" wide and 1" tall.
