Self-taught carver Stewart Alonzo is of Diné (Navajo) and Laguna Pueblo descent raised in Ramah, New Mexico, near Zuni Pueblo. This long-time artist is one whose works are collected the world over. His latest offering is a pair of perched Eagles (or Hawks) who map out ancestral lands with an all-knowing clarity. Sculpted from one gorgeous Picasso marble specimen, their panoramic vision is from turquoise inlays. Lovely beaks have drilled nares, while plumage is deeply incised. About 2" tall, 1 3/8" wide and 1 1/2" deep.
