Sea Turtles are a keystone species who bring important nutrients from the ocean to beaches. Their important activities include stabilizing shorelines against erosion. But they need our help. When visiting coastal nesting beaches, we can flatten sandcastles before departing as they can be a deadly obstacle for mothers and their little hatchlings. We can also remove all of our trash, plastics and be respectful to never disturb designated nesting sites. Rosella and Loubert Soseeah's turquoise-eyed water friend is sculpted from serpentine that has a few tiny lovely pyrite specks. Flippers are nicely cross-hatched. About 1 5/8" long, 1 1/8" wide and 5/8" tall.
