Rain Cloud Earrings

Joel Pajarito's father is award-winning jeweler Anthony Lovato. His grandmother was renowned mosaic jeweler Mary C. Lovato. Carrying on in the tufa cast tradition, Joel's handmade sterling silver rain cloud earrings celebrate life-giving water. Nothing is more precious in the arid desert Southwest than life-giving rainfall. Tufa stone is a compressed volcanic ash material. It is easier to carve than sandstone and its porous surface leaves a unique texture once the metal has cooled. For pierced ears, these oval-shaped beauties are about 1 1/8" long and 3/4" wide. They are of a heavyweight in wearability. Signed by the artist.
