Award-winning Zuni artist Brion Hattie, Sr. learned to carve decades ago from his late brother Jeffery Tsalabutie. He said his favorite animals to carve are Bobcats, Wolves and Turtles. He enjoys working with gorgeous pyrite but admits its a challenging material because "it takes longer and uses a lot of water to cool them down so they don’t get too hot and crack." We're loving his perched Eagle or Hawk sculpted from stunning pyrite. Sharp eyes from sky blue turquoise inlays always maintain a bird's eye perspective. About 2 1/8" long, 1" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
