Ancestral Puebloans kept scarlet macaws over 1,000 years ago at Pueblo Bonito in the American southwest. Oral tradition and archeological evidence revealed their prized feathers were used on prayer sticks and masks. Bryston Bowannie's talkative detailed parrot is carved from black marble with outstretched wings. Intelligent eyes are from turquoise inlays while a curved hooked beak is gorgeous. In nature, a parrot's short beak can exert significant force when biting. About 3 1/4" long, 1 3/4" wide and 1" tall.
