Mother bears give birth during their seasonal torpor or hibernation. Both mother and cub winter together in a warm cozy den, waking in the spring to explore, eat, learn and teach. Sometimes cubs will spend up to 3 years with their mothers. Paulette and Farlan Quam's Bear pairing has been carved from two stunning specimens of Picasso marble. We love the expressive exchange between mother and cub. Eyes are from turquoise inlays and fur is precisely etched. About 3" long, 2" wide and 1 5/8" tall.
