The enchanting colors in labradorite are not actually present in the stone but are the result of light play within the stone. Labradorite is a feldspar with a crystalline structure that forms very thin compacted layers. When light hits the surface of the stone, it travels down through the layers which reflect, refract and diffuse the white light. Some colors are absorbed while the reflecting ones we see as flash on the stone's surface. Eddington Hannaweeke's Frog has been sculpted from peach labradorite with mesmerizing hues. Eyes are from pen shell and an exquisite offering bundle is from handmade sterling silver, turquoise and heishe shell beads. Smooth and cool, this approximately 1 7/8" long, 1 1/4" wide and 3/4" tall amphibian fits nicely in the palm of your hand.
