Iridescent Eagle

By Kevin Chapman, Zuni-Sioux

Animal: Eagle, Material: Gold Lip Mother-Of-Pearl Shell
This offering is sold.

Underwater a miraculous process occurs inside certain mollusks where a substance called nacre is released and hardens, creating mother-of-pearl. It is a lovely metaphorical name as this process happens inside the "belly" of the mollusk. Kevin Chapman's iridescent gold lip mother-of-pearl shell Eagle (or Hawk) readies elegantly etched wings for flight. Turquoise eyes see the whole picture. About 2" long, 5/8" wide and 1" tall.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
