Zuni Pueblo women are known for skillful movement while balancing pottery jars or ollas on their heads. Chad Quandelacy's marble Olla Maiden has crushed turquoise both in the jar and on her person, representing life-giving water. Facial features are etched into turquoise and filled with jet paste. Etched stars adorn her traditional clothing. Including the jet base, measurments are approximately 2 3/4" tall, 1" wide and 3/4" deep.
