Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez's Bear is carved from labradorite, a feldspar mineral. Canada is the world's leading source of labradorite. Large deposits are mined on the Labrador Peninsula in the eastern part of the country. Gentle eyes are from jet inlays and an offering bundle contains exquisite olive heishe, turquoise, aquamarine, abalone and garnet beads. About 3" long, 1 1/8" wide and 2" tall.
