Mountain-lions (pumas, cougars or panthers) interact with hundreds of species. They are ecological brokers if you will, who play a direct role in balancing other habitats and animal populations. It was discovered in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem that approximately 11% of local bird species, even some songbirds, feed on mountain lion kills.
