Herbert Halate's lightly-fragrant cedar Eagle (or Hawk) has a wonderful hooked beak and sharp vision from turquoise inlaid eyes. Herbert is a Zuni elder who has been carving since 1972. His father Leonard Halate taught him the art. He delicately texturized the surface which compliments the wood's lovely grain. About 4 3/8" long, 3/4" wide and 1 3/8" tall.
