Zuni artists Georgette Quam Lunasee and Reynold Lunasee started carving together in 1985. Her first carving was a
Frog while his was a
Bear. Georgette sculpted a cheery little ladybug from apple coral and jet, accented with both turquoise and jet inlays. Reynold did the sanding and buffing. Ladybug is a summertime blessing, happily eating aphids off a gorgeous ricolite leaf. Measurements of the beetle and plant organ are about 2" long, 1 1/2" wide and 5/8" tall. They are permanently attached.
