Harvester red ants walk quickly back and forth on their little highways as well-camouflaged horned Lizards wait quietly on the sides to lick them up. Native Harvester red ants are an important food source for horned lizards who are a threatened species. Karen Zunie's gorgeous serpentine reptile watches the juicy insects through turquoise inlaid eyes. Scales are skillfully incised. In Zuni Pueblo, horned lizards are respected and associated with the Red Ant Society. Measurements are approximately 2 1/4" long, 1 1/8" wide and 3/4" tall.
