Hopi White Ogre Katsina Doll

For more than 40 years, Adrian Leon has been carving fine katsina dolls like this miniature Hopi White Ogre Katsina. He said that katsina dolls "represent everything in the universe. Whatever we can think of, there is a dancer for that. Every time I sell these dolls I say a prayer that wherever they go, let them heal whoever has problems, or let their town become peaceful and gain what they need because they do have strong power." This collectible woodwork is decorated with feathers, pipe cleaner, embroidery thread, cloth and either yucca or cactus spines on a cottonwood body painted with colorful acrylic paints. Signed by the artist, this small woodwork including base is approximately 2 1/2" tall, 1" wide and 1" deep.
