Kolowisi is the traditional horned or feathered serpent who is guardian of water sources and can move around aquifers into Zuni River, Salt Lake or any body of water. Very sacred, Kolowisi is sometimes brought into Zuni as a Katsina. Perhaps Frankie Eustace's serpentine creation is a feathered serpent or a beneficial Snake. Bright eyes and body inlays are from turquoise. Frankie shared that he would like people to know that he enjoys making animal carvings. After they are finished he says a prayer “Thank you for letting it come out”. About 4 3/8" long, 3/8" wide and 1" tall.
