A portion of rich found stone has been carved into a Dragonfly by Peter Sohappy. Curved in form, the aerial insect is suspended from a leather cord that's about 40" long. The water creature itself is about 2 1/4" long and 1 3/8" wide. Dragonflies are older than the dinosaurs. Some fossils reveal they were perfectly equipped for flight from the beginning. Indigenous cultures like the Zunis regard the dragonfly as a messenger who carries prayers and is a sign of fresh water.
