Andres Lementino's fertile frog promises to quench a thirst for rain with the help of an exquisite raincloud element set from gold lip mother-of-pearl shell, apple coral and lapis lazuli. Carved from Golden Hills turquoise with lively eyes from jet inlays, this Frog for rain measures approximately 1 1/4" long, 1 1/8" wide and 3/4" tall. The Altyn Tyube mine in Kazakhstan about 200 miles south of the Russian border, yields Kazakhstan Turquoise or Golden Hills Turquoise. The turquoise deposit was found in 2013 giving up stones with a highly-desirable light blue hue.
