Fast Roadrunner

Roadrunners know how to think on their feet. Intelligent, they have quick reflexes thanks to long legs. Practically fearless, they survive by running in a horizontal position with their tail held flat and head and chest tilted forward and down, level with the ground. We're admiring Douglas Martza's rendition of New Mexico's state bird honored in picture jasper. A crested head with turquoise eyes and a fantastic beak, not to mention a great set of tail feathers, adorn this approximately 2 5/8" long, 1" wide and 1 5/8" tall desert bird.
