Lizard (or horny toad) has spotted a red harvester anthill nearby and turns in that direction. These particular native red ants are crucial to a horned lizard's diet. An adult horned lizard can consume about 60 ants per day. In Zuni Pueblo, horned lizards are respected and associated with the Red Ant Society. Beautifully carved from rich Egyptian marble, this honored reptile is about 3 5/8" long, 2 1/4" wide and 3/4" tall.
