Mike Mahooty comes from the extended Mahooty, Lasiloo and Laiwakete family of noted Zuni artists. His late grandfather Chester Mahooty produced some carvings but it was his late father Eugene Mahooty who carved regularly in the 1970's, teaching the art to other family members. We are adoring Mike's precious Bear cub smoothly sculpted from a striking leopard marble to a dimension of roughly 2 1/2" long, 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/4" tall. Eager eyes are from turquoise inlays.
