Zuni Pueblo potters Anderson Jamie Peynetsa and his mother Avelia Peynetsa, both noted artists, collaborated in the creation of a dynamic olla pottery jar featuring both stylized and old-style painted Dragonflies, who are important symbols of life-giving water for the A:Shiwi (The People). Olla is a Spanish term describing an earthen pot used to hold water, food and other things. The traditionally sourced natural clay and mineral pigments are worked by hand. Many of the water creature's host painted dot accents applied a bit thicker for a lovely raised effect. The collectible vessel's inside wall shows the potter's hand-coiling, so beautiful. About 6" tall, 7" wide and 7" deep. Signed by the artists. Not suitable to hold water. Please click here to learn more about wonderful Zuni pottery.
