Developed by Native American Plains cultures, parfleche were lightweight containers and bags used to store a variety of things. To this day, artists like Nathalie Waldman of the Dogrib Tribe continue in this important artistic tradition. Her all handmade Deerskin parfleche flower bag is hand-painted with lovely blooms and stems, in vibrant purple, yellow, orange and green acrylic paints. A sterling silver button also adorns this approximate 3" by 2 1/2" pouch. The pouch length with silver jingle coned fringe is about 9", while the braided stap's length is about 42".
