Eddington Hannaweeke's cherished bird is carved of a fabulous specimen of Boulder opal with hematite. The opal areas are lovely. This feathered friend has big eyes of inlaid turquoise and measures about 1 7/8" long, 1" wide and 5/8" tall. We love the naturally occurring hollow area, almost like a mini-offering bowl. We're also admiring the clean incising marks for wing detail.
