For many years, Zuni artists Daphne and Leland Boone have worked collaboratively on animal carvings. Leland was taught by his mother Lena Boone and late grandmother Edna Leki when he was in his early teens. Daphne is self-taught but says Leland instructed her in the sanding process. Their turquoise-eyed Beaver is a testament to their dedication and skill in continuing a great Zuni tradition handed down through the family. A sweet Nutria stone water friend constantly maintains and rebuilds a home teaching us to renovate our lives for the better too. A hard-working creature with a lovely sgraffito-etched tail to inspire us everyday. A red coral gift is offered. Measurements are about 3 1/8" long, 7/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall.
