Despite being named after the Amazon River in South America, amazonite is a semi-opaque feldspar mineral found in places like Colorado, Libya, Australia and Namibia. There are no natural deposits of amazonite near the Amazon basin. A refreshing sea-foam or minty green color is said to cleanse negative thoughts. The ancient Egyptians used amazonite in the death mask of the Pharaoh King Tutankhamen. Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez's gentle Bear with red coral eyes is sculpted from lively amazonite accented with stars and a Dragonfly element. Two sweet Corn-Maiden sisters are carved into this approximately 2 3/4" long, 1 1/4" wide and 1 7/8" tall collectible piece.
