When visiting flowers for nectar, wasps transfer pollen to other flowers. We can thank very small wasps from the Agaonidae family because they pollinate delicious fig trees too. Wasps are also a garden's best friend because they eat aphids and flies. Brandon Phillips' turquoise-eyed wasp with mandibles has lovely wings from iridescent gold lip mother-of-pearl shell inlaid to a handsome Picasso marble body with jet rings. A little stinger is from shell as well. About 2 1/2" long, 1" wide and 7/8" tall.
