Our Whale Brother

Indigenous Inuit maintain an ancient deep connection to the ocean and marine life that is not only spiritual but familial. Whales are blood brothers and sisters regarded as guardians and providers of sustenance. Great reverance is offered to brother whale after the hunt. A meal, fresh water and prayers are given so that whale's spirit has a safe journey home. Everything is used nothing is wasted. Melvin Sandoval's elegantly sculpted water creature is depicted from ethereal angelite to a size of approximately 3 1/2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 2" tall.
