Dragonflies. They emerge from their multi-storied Zuni home. The Maiden's soothing faces are overlaid with golden gold lip shell, incised and filled with jet paste. Etched sacred
Corn and jet accents are present on their bodies. For the A:Shiwi (The People), long ago Corn Maidens saved them from famine and drought by providing nourishment from their corn bodies. Slightly convex, Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez's stunning carving is about 3 3/4" long, 5/8" wide and 2 7/8" tall.
