We're happy to welcome Danny Lonjose to Keshi's website. Long ago Corn Maiden saved the People by nourishing them with corn from her body. Facial features are from overlaid mother-of-pearl, etched and filled with jet paste and lapis. Etched areas of Corn kernels can be seen on orange spiny oyster shell. Traditionally whorled hair is inlaid with perhaps lapis, while a lone feather adorns. Approximately 2 1/4" tall, 1" wide and 1 1/8" deep, carved from travertine.
