Squirrels are more than just forest dwellers, they are teachers of balance and resourcefulness. They not only dine on nuts and seeds but the occasional vole as they are opportunistic omnivores when nature calls. In 2024, an abundance of voles in California created an adaptive response in squirrels where they hunted and consumed them. Abby Panteah's wonderful woodland squirrel has been carved from a somewhat weighty pyrite nugget hosting magenta, rich purple, royal blue and subtle green colors especially on the voluminous tail. Observant eyes from turquoise are cleanly set by Clayton Panteah. About 1 3/8" tall, 1" wide and 7/8" deep.
