Aaron Chapella is carver Lorandina Sheche's son. Aaron's latest offering is this wonderful turtle carved of serpentine. This reptile's shell is incised in a lovely way and is accented with turquoise inlay. In some oral traditions, the first North Americans envisioned the continent as a turtle because it was surrounded by water. Aaron's delightful Turtle has turquoise inlaid eyes and measures about 2 3/8" long, 1/3/4" wide and 1/2" tall.
