Years ago, Alvin Calavaza shared with us that his prized Eagle carvings are identifiable by the incised lines and turquoise inlays around the neck and breast area, while his beloved Hawk carvings only have the turquoise inlays and no incised lines. Perhaps this perched bird is a young hawk or other feathered friend. Sweet eyes are from turquoise inlays. About 1 5/8" tall, 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" deep, sculpted from Picasso marble.
