Lorandina Sheche has carried on in the late Theodore Kucate's traditional style. Theodore used to make animal carvings from the different rocks he found along the river, carving sheep for the Diné to help protect their flocks. In the 1920's, he was given a copy of Cushing's Zuni Fetishes book and began to create some of the ancient pieces that he saw throughout that publication. Lorandina's wonderful old-style Wolf (Fox or Coyote) has been carved from serpentine and given a lovely fish rock serpentine point, branch red coral and turquoise offering bundle. Enchanted eyes are from verdant malachite inlays. About 3 1/2" long, 3/4" wide and 1 3/8" tall.
