Laguna artist Amber Carrillo is a high-concept jeweler. Her stunning pieces hold deep stories and meanings behind them as seen in a reticulated sterling silver and leather bolo tie titled "Hunab Ku Meso American".

Hunab Ku translates from the Yucatec Maya language as "The One God" or "Sole God". Hunab Ku is not a pre-hispanic, ancient Indigenous Mayan deity or from their ideology. The design is colonial in origin. The Spanish clergy used it to teach Christian ideals of a single God for the traditionally polytheistic Mayan People. Nowadays some feel the lovely design represents a universal force or the heart of the Milky Way.

The adjustable, signed by the artist station itself is about 3 1/8" long and 2 1/4" wide. The total length of the bolo's 1/4" thick cord is approximately 68 1/2" long, very generously-sized for custom tailoring to match your height and style. The elegant tips themselves are about 1 1/2" long. Please contact us if you desire personalization on the bolo cord's length. We'd be happy to customize the cord's length to your specifications.
