Gentle in nature, fascinating armadillos play a beneficial role on Mother Earth. They regulate certain insect populations that aren't always the best for gardens and landscapes. Also, they are unique in that they are the only mammal with a protective shell of small bony plates. Abby Panteah carved a charming white marble armadillo that's about 1 7/8" long, 3/4" wide and 3/4" tall. Little lookout eyes and a heartline or breath path are from turquoise inlays beautifully executed by Clayton Panteah, Abby husband and fellow artist.
