Todd Westika has been carving since 1990 having been taught by his late aunt Rhoda Quam. He descends from the greater Quandelacy and Quam family of noted Zuni artists. We're enchanted by a reversible Corn-Maiden sculpted from a lovely mineral called stichtite first identified in 1910 on the west coast of Australia. In an interesting presentation of stichtite, incredible veins are like purple lightning coursing throughout. The color purple is said to promote healing and awaken creativity. This approximately 4 5/8" tall, 1 7/8" wide and 3/4" deep double-sided piece has sgraffito-etched stars, corn and dragonfly accents. Facial features are from inlaid sterling silver and pretty necklaces are from colorful turquoise inlays.
