Dendritic Haloed Bear

By Nelson Yatsattie

Animal: Bear, Material: Dolomite
This offering is sold.

A dolomite specimen hosts gorgeous dendritic formations in Nelson Yatsattie's sweet mellow Bear. They are formed when manganese and iron oxides crystallize into tree and branch-like formations within the cracks and fissures of the host rock. The formations look like ancient plant or moss fossils but are really a natural growth pattern that many rock hounds prize. A ring of dendritic growths resemble a halo on this approximately 2 7/8" long, 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" tall heavenly friend. Clawed paws are sgraffito-etched while endearing eyes are from turquoise inlays.
