Zuni artist Gloria Chattin's brother is Daniel Chattin, both known for carving lovely Corn Maidens among other subjects. Symbolizing potential, confident Corn Maiden emerges with bodily corn kernels. Gloria's rich fluorite Corn-Maiden has incised facial features filled with jet paste, while bright red coral, lapis lazuli and turquoise pieces adorn. She's presented on a found slate point accented with crushed turquoise to represent water. Dimensions in their entirety are about 1 5/8" tall, 1 1/4" wide and 5/8" deep.
