The rich corn bounty is held by Corn-Maiden and perhaps a Harvest Maiden or even Rainbowman who is the Bringer of Rain, in Carl Etsate's extraordinary abalone shell carving. Their powerful faces are from overlaid lapis lazuli, red coral and pen shell. The stunning corn cob offerings are from sculpted lapis lazuli, gold lip shell, turquoise, iridescent mother-of-pearl and spiny oyster shell, while stylized leaf blades are from colorful gaspeite. They're nestled among turquoise nuggets and coral pieces. The piece is beautifully inlaid with many lapis lazuli, red coral, turquoise, gold lip shell and malachite pieces. Presented on a base from a lovely scallop shell, dimensions in their entirety are about 5" tall, 3 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep.
