Bears are the most prevalent subject of animal carvings by the A:Shiwi (Zuni). By recognizing a bear’s natural traits or animal medicine such as mighty strength, wisdom and introspection, fearless journeying, protection and good parenting, we can awaken similar attributes within ourselves. The Panteah's matrix-rich turquoise Medicine-Bear is a tidy and approximate 1 1/4" long, 1/2" wide and roughly 1 1/8" tall companion, a perfect size to bring with you in remembrance of a bear's wonderful qualities to cultivate. Abby carved the little bear, while Clayton did the clean inlay work on the turquoise eyes and heartline or breath path.
