Zuni Travertine Steer

Well-known carver Freddie Leekya's strong steer or bull has been carved from a gorgeous variety of travertine local to Zuni Pueblo. Colorful turquoise hooves secure every step, a long tail swats away pests and neat non-removable horns are carved from wood, perhaps cedar. Little eyes from turquoise convey a curiosity, while an overlaid mouth is from pen shell. About 3 3/4" long, 1 1/2" wide and 2 1/8" tall.
