Dee Edaakie was influenced by his uncle carving great Gibbs Othole. Dee began his career by sanding rough fetishes in his uncle's studio. Prior to that he studied painting using pencils and watercolors to create landscapes and animals. It was this beginning that helped him shape each animal. Dee's latest offering is an engagingly sweet Bear carved from alluring and somewhat weighty peacock ore. Natural metallic areas host royal blue, teal green and magical magenta hues. Eyes are from turquoise inlays. About 1 3/4" long, 3/4" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
