It is believed that septarian nodules began as mud-balls under the shallow seas during the Cretaceous period. When the seas receded these balls of mud dried, cracked and then fossilized where the cracks formed with beautiful minerals like calcite. This very special
Turtle has been sculpted from a rich septarian nodule in a way that only a master carver like Felino Eriacho could release with such minimal carving. Little eyes are from pen shell inlays. Feeling so cool and smooth to touch, this exquisite reptile is about 3 1/2" long, 2 1/2" wide and 1" tall.
