A specialized scent sensor on the tip of a
Mole's nose helps locate prey. They work year-round tunneling and hunting for food favorites like earthworms. During the winter season, they will tunnel down deep below the frost line. For the Zuni Pueblo people a mole is the Guardian of Mother Earth, a protective and hunting animal of the underground. Nelson Yatsattie's mole is smoothly sculpted from well-polished marble. Eyes are from turquoise and digger paws are etched. About 3 5/8" long, 2" wide and 5/8" tall.
