Majestic beauty and power are felt in Maxx Laate's carved gold lip mother-of-pearl shell Eagle head pendant. Piercing eyes are from turquoise, while a hooked beak is amazing. The sterling silver accents along with turquoise and red coral further beautify this approximate 2" long and 2" wide handmade raptor pendant. Signed by the artist. The silver snake chain is not included but is available and sold separately here.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
Maxx Laate perfectly captured the graceful movements of this water hunter in shed antler. This majestic crane stands tall with its elegant neck outstretched with eyes on the sky, perhaps waiting on the signal for the fall migration to start. The eyes of inlaid turquoise are bright and stand out agains the pale color of the antler material. This piece stands about 8 3/8" tall, 1 1/4' wide by 2 1/2" deep. Crane symbolism has many meanings around the globe and mainly represents wisdom, grace, and longevity.
Maxx Laate is an extraordinary artist, teaching many in his family the art of fetish carving. We're inspired with the power conveyed from his turquoise Eagle head adjustable bolo tie. Beautifully incised feathers, a magnificent beak and an eye of jet are surrounded by a handmade bezel of sterling silver, with turquoise embellishments. This handsome station is about 1 1/2" wide and 3/4" deep. A hand-braided black leather bolo tie is finished off with sterling silver tips, and together measure approximately 46" long. Signed by the artist.
