Zuni artist Gloria Chattin is known for carving lovely Corn Maidens among other subjects. Symbolizing potential, a double-sided Corn Maiden emerges with bodily corn kernels. The mother-of-pearl Corn-Maiden has incised facial features filled with jet paste, while bright red coral, angel skin coral, lapis lazuli and turquoise pieces adorn. She's presented on a dolomite base accented with crushed turquoise to represent water. Dimensions in their entirety are about 2 1/4" tall, 7/8" wide and 1/2" deep.
